I started this blog for two reasons. First, just to give me somewhere to document my experiences with my 2006 KLR 650. Second, I wanted to create a hub of links that I wish I could have found all in one place when I got my bike. There is a ton of great information out there, so no need for me to try to recreate it. But, if I can make it a little easier for you to find the info you need ....well, that's good.
I got my bike in early October, and got my motorcycle license soon after. The last motorcycle I owned was a Kawasaki KD 80 when I was 13... like in 1980! So, needless to say there will be a learning curve. My goal is to ride the Trans American Trail ...5000 miles, Tennessee to Oregon, 95% dirt, summer of 2011... Stay tuned!
Anything you'd like me to add to the site?
Any advice to help me reach my goal?
Let me know!
Hey Ken...found your blog via the KLRNet forum. I did a SA trip a few years ago..www.motorcycletheworld.com. Site hasn't been updated in a looong time, but it might help in your TAT trip...at least the inspiration part...just gotta go. I'm currently prepping a 2007 KLR650 for an around the world trip and hope to have a website up shortly about that prep work. I'll make sure to follow your blog to see how your TAT plans are going. Jeff
ReplyDeleteHello There,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering on the kickstand Mod, what size bolt and nut did you use to make the adjustable kickstand?
